Savannah

Savannah is the embodiment of Southern comfort- a charming city with a warm and welcoming personality. A walk through historic Savannah is full of pleasant surprises on every street, whether they be gorgeously bright homes, impressive landmarks, or simply admiring the gorgeous oaks and Spanish moss that dominate the city. Strolling through the intricate parks, you could spend a whole afternoon sitting the shade of a giant oak and be perfectly content. And of course, a trip to Savannah can't be discussed without also bringing up the incredible food and drinks throughout the city- from biscuits and gravy to whiskey and wine, the South has never tasted so good.

A Walk in the Park

Cobblestone streets and giant mossy oaks dominate the many parks and squares across the city.

Memories

01.

Breakfast of Champions

Out of all the food I had in Savannah, the meal that stood out the most (aside from #3)- breakfast. And if there's one thing the South knows how to do right, it's biscuits and gravy. So when I hear there's an entire restaurant that specializes in that, I make my way over and have the best breakfast on this side of the Mason Dixon line. Picture this: apple butter, fresh chicken strips, crisp bacon, melty cheese, all between the best biscuits you've ever seen. Maple Street Biscuit Co., you make me proud.

Better than S*x

Probably one of the most... niche?... dessert restaurants I've ever been to, this place is themed entirely around... you know, but it somehow does so in a (mostly) classy way. It's a romantic restaurant for sure, so going by yourself makes it that much more awkward, but if you let yourself have a good time (food wise), it's absolutely worth getting flustered about. Hey, they've got good dessert even if it is... phallic shaped.

Taking a Nap in the Park

There's a lot to do and see in Savannah, but the problem is... there's also a lot to eat and drink. And if I'm being completely honest, on a beautiful day with sun shining and belly full, sometimes the best thing to do is take it easy and find a nice spot under a tree and snooze. Savannah is full of gorgeous squares and parks, but there's one that stands above the rest: Forsyth Park. It's got beautiful fountains, old statues, plenty of space for walking around, and best of all, giant oaks perfect for camping under and listening to music while dozzing off.
